  • OSHA Regulations
    • WHAT ARE MY RESPONSIBILITIES AS AN EMPLOYER?
      • OSHA states very specifically what an employer is responsible for concerning fall protection in the construction industry. The following are a list of standards that previous customers have found helpful in determining what avenue they should take to ensure compliance with the law.
    • Training Program Development
      • Per 1926.503(a)(1) OSHA mandates that "The employer shall provide a training program for each employee who might be exposed to fall hazards. The program shall enable each employee to recognize the hazards of falling and shall train each employee in the procedures to be followed in order to minimize these hazards."
    • Certification of Training
      • OSHA states per 1926.503(b)(1) "The employer shall verify compliance with paragraph (a) of this section by preparing a written certification record. The written certification record shall contain the name or other identity of the employee trained, the date(s) of the training, and the signature of the employer..."
    • Wind Turbine High Angle Rescue Training
      • OSHA states that 1926.502(d)(20) "The employer shall provide for prompt rescue of employees in the event of a fall or shall assure that employees are able to rescue themselves."
  • Awareness Level Training (4 hours) - The Awareness Level Training program is the basic training that all employees exposed to fall hazards are required to attend. This program focuses on inspection of PFAS (personal fall arrest system), proper use of PFAS, proper anchorage points, and safe climbing techniques. All training will be conducted by a Competent Person in Fall Protection provided by ERT. Upon completion of the training, each student will be required to demonstrate the skills they have learned by way of successfully passing an inspection, selection, and climb test.
  • Supervisory Level Training (4 hours) - The Supervisory Level Training program is specifically designed to provide supervisors with the skills necessary to recognize potential and existing fall hazards in their work area and the knowledge to abate those hazards should they arise. This course is performed primarily in a classroom style setting with focus on the standards, regulations, and unique techniques that Supervisors must know in order to properly assess and abate a fall hazard. The Awareness Level Training is required prior to Supervisory Level Training.
  • High Angle Rescue Team Training (24 hours) - The Wind Turbine High Angle Rescue Team Training program will take a select few of your employees and dissect every scenario within your towers to find the proper anchor points, techniques, and equipment that will be necessary to rescue a fallen colleague. No two towers are exactly alike which is why it is extremely important to evaluate the working environment your employees will be exposed to. Upon completion of this course your company will have a highly trained teamed armed with the skills to utilize proper equipment to rescue a fallen employee promptly.
